Make Money

If you’re looking to earn a bit of extra money, or are looking for a side hustle, then you might want to consider signing up for some product testing sites. This is a great way to get some money and try out fun and new products.

How Does Product Testing Work

Product testing is basically what the name says. You get paid to test different products and offer back your feedback. Loads of companies use this as a way to do market research for any new products that they are realising. You can also test products in a category that interests you, like technology, food and drink, cosmetics and toiletries, books/magazines and fashion.

There are also loads of different places that you can sign up to test products, and we have listed some of our favs below. Keep reading to find out more! Some sites will either send you products and let you keep them, or pay you in Amazon vouchers or something similar.

Who is Eligible to Become a Product Tester?

There are no requirements to become a product tester. Some companies may ask you to fill out a survey, but this is mainly to help them match you with the best products. You don’t need any qualifications to become a product tester, you just need to be able to test the products and have an opinion. This is a really great way to make a bit of extra money, as all you need to do is sign up for product testing websites, and you don’t have to faff on sending your CV and waiting for a reply.

How Much Can You Earn Being a Product Tester?

This will always depend on which platform you choose to use and how often you are testing products and taking surveys. Each company rewards product testing in different ways, so it’s hard to say how much you will be earning exactly. With that being said, you can still earn quite a bit through doing this.

Test Directly for Brands

You can test directly for brands, and offer your opinion direct to the company, rather than through a third party. Now you’ll have to fill out profiles for each company, but you will be able to test products from specific brands you love.

Nike

Nike’s ‘The Voice of the Athletes’ programme sends you their latest products to test, and all you need to do is write a review of them. Unfortunately, with Nike you won’t get to keep the products you’re sent, as they need to be sent back for extra testing.

All you have to do is apply to be a tester on the website, wait to be accepted and then you can start testing. Once you are sent the products, you test them, submit your feedback, return the product for further testing, and then sit tight for your next test invitation.

Philips

Philips is another great brand that offers direct testing. You might get sent their latest shavers, toothbrushes, blenders and more. All you need to do is sign up on the Philips website. Once you’re all signed up and completed your application, you will receive the products to test for either free or at a reduced price.

A big bonus with Philips is you get to keep the products once you have successfully submitted your review. Nice!

Vogue Insiders

For all the avid Vogue readers or beauty lovers out there, this is a great brand to get involved with. When you sign up on the Vogue Insiders website, there is a quick questionnaire to fill in, which helps you build what they refer to as a beauty profile. You might be able to test products for the likes of Prada, Secret and more.

Kelloggs

Feeling hungry? Why not test some products straight from the Kelloggs kitchen. Test new Kelloggs products, like their new breakfast bars and cereals. Like other product testing websites, Kelloggs offer a redemption system. When you test products, you will earn points, which can then be redeemed for gift cards. Sign up to become a product tester for Kelloggs here.
