For those of you who know what you like, they have a ‘build your own’ uramaki menu priced at a very reasonable 4 piece for £6/8 piece for £9. If you’re not sure just yet, they have a a set menu, a perfect taster to get all the vibes, and get to know the world of sushi.
Must Try: Shifu’s Shanghai Chicken, the gangs take on a sweet & sour chicken.

Cog and Wheel
Located in the heart of Sandyford, just a 5-minute walk from Newcastle city centre, is Cog and Wheel. These are the guys for the freshest pub food and cocktails for days. Speaking of which, lets get straight down to the bevvies and the bait. Cog and Wheel offer home made pub grub on another level, everything from your burger to your Sunday lunch. Oh and did we mention they know it out the park with their bottomless brunch all through Monday to Saturday, and bank hol Sundays. We’re on board for that
Must Try: Chicky Gervais, a chicken burger with allll of the flavour.

Francesca’s
You can’t be an authentic, rustic Italian restaurant. You actually can’t. Francesca’s is the answer to all your needs. A taste of Italy, right on the streets of the toon, and the prices are pretty good too! They’ve got the usual suspects: pizza and pasta, that’s life right? But there’s also fish and meat dishes for any occasion.
Must Try: Lasagna. Because it’s a good time, every time.

The Canny Goat
The Canny Goat is a specialty coffee house, and the perfect place for a light lunch or a winter warmer with a sweet treat. Their cakes are all locally baked, and it’s dog friendly, so you don’t have to worry about being allowed to bring your lil friend with you. Don’t have a dog? You might get a chance to tickle someone elses. That’s normal right?
They’ve got something for everyone, with vegans, veggies, and gluten free options too. Game for something different for your coffee? They do the odd guest roast from time to time, so dabble in something off piste and enjoy!
Must Try: Four Cheese Toastie, because one cheese was never enough right?

Moulin Rouge Cafe & Grill
Moulin Rouge Cafe and Grill is a Persian cafe and Grill restaurant, with great food for great prices, you really can’t go wrong with that eh. They offer kebabs, wraps, paninis, toasties, and a Persian Special of the Day. They’ve also got the English Breakfast classics. Think a proper lovely cafe, with the odd Persian twist, and proper cafe prices. We’re major fans of the place.
Must Try: Big Breakfast, at only £4.50 we’re down for that.

Let’s talk pancakes, or crepes should we say. A creperie is what dreams are made of. Serving a selection of sweet & savoury crepes & other food delights alongside the best coffee in the North, Monsieur Crepe Cafe is where it’s at. The founders opened the shop to bring the authentic French crepe experience to the streets of the North East, alongside fresh sandwiches, salads, and pancake stacks, and hot drinks to tide you over.
Must Try: Berrylicious Crepes, go on then.
