Cheap Places to Eat in Liverpool

Liverpool has so many amazing places to eat out on the cheap. There’s something for everyone in the scouse capital, a vibrant food scene with something for everyone.

Madre

Located on the stunning Albert Dock, Madre offers Mexican tapas and street food. It is not just amazing food that Madre offers. Have a nosey at the first rate cocktail menu while you’re there. It’d be rude not to!

Snacks start from just £3, so if you’re looking for a light bite and a couple of drinks, then you can definitely pop in here. For those with more a hunger, don’t you worry, Madre will still have plenty to look after you.

Mowgli

If you’re looking for an Indian Street food experience Mowgli is the place for you. Founded by Nisha Katona, Mowgli brings packs incredible Indian flavour and cuisine into tapas sized small plates, that will get you wanting to come back again even before you’ve left. Try a mix of dishes, between your friends, or all for yourself! Alternatives are ofcourse available for those needing something gluten or vegan friendly.

Must Try: Yoghurt Chat Bombs to start, followed up by the Mowgli Sticky Chicken or House Keema.


Baltic Market

The Baltic Market was Liverpool’s first street food market, they really do have something for everyone. Meat, veg, gluten free, and everything in between, you won’t leave hungry. The great news is there’s something for all budgets. Fancy a drink of something different, there’s plenty more where that came from. Whether you’re hungry, thirsty, or simply just want a desert cuz it’s the weekend, the Baltic Market will have something to tickle your fancy.

Must Try: Everything! Come on guys, work your way around.


Rococo

If you’re looking for a cute little cafe with loads of character, and plenty of little cosy corners, Rococo is the one for you. Located right next to all the shops in Liverpool city centre on Lord Street, you can call in whenever you need a break from your shopping spree.

Breakfast is served all day long, so if you’re fancying a late brunch, this is the place to go. 

Must Try: Doorstep toast. No chance you’ll be hungry after that one.


Crazy Pedro’s

Crazy Pedro’s Pizza Parlour are famous for their pizza’s (obv), nachos and drinks. With a super chill happy hour from 5-9pm every Sunday to Friday, where pizza slices are only £2. You can even get a whole pizza fir only £10 with the 2-4-1 cocktails!

Crazy Pedro’s bring the vibes to your next bottomless brunch: 90 mins of endless pizza slices from their special pizzas of the day. Hooch, Beer, Prosecco & Frozen Margs. Sorted.

So, if you’re in need of good vibes only and a crazy tasty pizza this is the place for you. 

Must Try: Pedro’s World Famous Hot Dog Pizza & a Frozen Margarita.


The Pen Factory

The Pen Factory up on Hope Street offers the best of British and European cuisine, at a tasty looking price. With small plates and sharing dishes, you can sample a real nice spread of all the tasty local and seasonal food on offer. There’s something for everyone with veggie, vegan, and gluten free options.

Pen Factory also has a range of drinks that you can choose from, so there is definitely something here for you. Plates start from £3.50, so if you’re looking to save a bit of cash, you know where to go. Just after drinks, they’re open late with a regular rotation of ales and wines for all. And yes, they’re 110% dog friendly. Yay!

Must Try: Soup of the Day with a Sourdough for a little winter warmer.


Gordon Ramsay’s Street Pizza

Gordon Ramsey’s Street Pizza at Bread Street Kitchen in the heart of Liverpool One is famous round these parts for their bottomless pizzas. Like, what’s not to love? Really!

Finish your sprawl through the shops, or if you’re planning a heavy one and want to fill yourself up first, get on down. Get stuck in, and enjoy.

Must Try: Corn & Chorizo Pizza. A classy one with not end in sight.


Amalia

Multi award winning Italian place Amalia brings to town the one and only: Calzone Challenge. Eat the lot in under an huor, and yep, you guessed it, get your meal for free! If you don’t quite fancy the challenge, no worries, there’s so much more on offer. Find all the usual suspects, pasta, pizza, antipasti, but with real Italian charm.

Students even get 50% off their bill, every single Wednesday between 12-6pm! So, if you need the carbs, and ofcourse you love Italian food, get on down. You’d be silly not to!
